Display Settings

This article relates to a legacy version of Sitemason. If you are looking for the Sitemason 6 version of this article, please visit here.

Before you add your articles, it may be worth considering how you want your articles to be displayed, both in list and detail views.  The Display Settings window (Settings->Display Settings) gives you management control over quite a few display options.

The Scope & Sorting tab gives you options for how your articles should appear ordered in a list, with the default settings being the most commonly used.

You can further refine the list view in the View Options tab.  It controls how many articles display per page, dictates which fields of the post are shown in the list, and a lot of other options, most notably the auto summary generator, and the inclusion of a date/time stamp with your post.

The Search & Archives tab lets you choose if the page should include a search field for the tool, or a menu for past articles that have been archived.

You can control all sorts of settings for the detail or article view of your posts in the Article View tab.  These settings let you manage sharing buttons (like the Social Networking tool ShareThis), time stamp and back button display, amongst other things.
